Whatever happened to the days when you could roll out to Bars in Ocean Beach on a Saturday night in a hoody and jeans, pull up a barstool, and have a beer and a conversation?  Although some OB Bars are still pretty chill, some of the more popular bars are a bit too rowdy for me on the weekends... especially if I'm baked.

OB Dudes have had a wonderful hippie/stoner reputation which made the local bars them a bit more relaxed than some other bars in San Diego. 
However, some Ocean Beach Bars seem to be overran by a bunch of creepy, horny, old dudes that have seem to have graduated to pure alcoholism.  In every bar there tends to be a guy or two that have clearly been drunk since 10am, but is it necessary for all bars on Newport to be filled with these dudes? 

Ocean Beach drunks have done a terrific job in making Ocean Beach bar night a scary idea for a group of attractive and well-dressed girls.  So, girls, unless you are in need of a butt-load of attention from gnarly dudes, try to look a bit homely.  And guys, get hammered (not stoned) before hitting OB for the night.
