Sandbar is definitely the best party in Mission Beach on the weekends. Thursday nights have a great ratio as the joint gets packed with loads of scandalous college girls. The weekends are always rowdy and the dancefloor moves harder than any nightclub in SD. You can hang with the locals upstairs if the dancing gets too hot for you. Finding a friend to leave with should never be a problem... unless you get too shit-faced... which will probably happen.

Yes, you can hang with the douchbags (and the girls who love them) after 11 PM on weekends. But I prefer my Sandbar before they move out the tables for the nighttime crowd, especially on Sunday mornings. There's no better place than Sandbar to nurse a hangover with some Margi's, some decktop sun, and a huevos rancheros (slip the cooks and pretty waitresse a five-spot and they'll make it for ya).

Very cool scene. I do agree that the line sucks there. Get there early. Also it gets very crowded.

Great Stop between the bars in South Mish and PB! During the day that is, perhaps on a bike ride or while meeting friends near the Wavehouse or Canes. Can be fun at night if you and your friends get there early but unfortunately the new corporate feel at the lacks the local luster the bar once celebrated.

Love going to Sandbar breakfast early on Sunday mornings during the football season. If you get there early you will get a spot at the bar. If you want to cheer for the Chargers or any other team this is the spot...Every game and the flat screens are tight!!!!

Number 1 for that great hangover recovery breakfast and Saturday and Sunday DAY fest of games and just drinking, PM time comes and with it the yokals ...over all a good time - every time, but definitely be prepared for the line on the weekends.

Definitely the best bar in the mission beach area. Mostly a college bar scene. The line can be long on friday and saturday nights but it's worth the wait.

Although it sucks trying to get in on summer fri/sat nights, i'll always be true to the Sandbar. I'll just get my booze on during the day.
