The Shine is ‘the place to be’ on Newport Ave. With outside seating upstairs and a smoking patio downstairs, the Sunshine Company caters to such a large crowd that sometimes can cause the line to spill onto the sidewalk. This Ocean Beach favorite can get rowdy with a large crowd, especially on the weekends. The daily beer happy hour from 5pm-6pm is definitely the main ingredient for debauchery, drawing an early crowd that will stay all night. They also have daily drinks specials during weekdays. You can seriously hit The Sunshine Company anytime with anybody and expect to have one hell of a good time. This joint is by far the most popular bar in Ocean Beach and always attracts fellow boozers of all ages.
