Although it sucks trying to get in on summer fri/sat nights, i'll always be true to the Sandbar. I'll just get my booze on during the day.

The Bitter End has good martinis and a really nice bar area. The nightclub, however is I tiny little sweat box. This place is cool as long as you're not really trying to have a fun night of dancing.

It's a pretty cool place since you now can go bowling in Downtown San Diego. It's the first of it's kind and it is always a bit too packed for my liking. I suspect that another bowling alley will soon be opening in downtown San Diego. It looks like the place is expanding and adding more lanes... this will definitely help with the crowds.

High Dive is definitely my favorite bar in Linda Vista. Being that it is off the beaten path of the PB Scene it draws a great local crowd. Cool bartenders pour heavy drinks and there are always good drink specials.

I Morena Club is a pretty cool bar to hit if you're in the mood for a dark, dingy dive bar. Sometimes they actually have really good DJ's, especially on the weekends.

The Wavehouse is a really cool place to drink beers and to people watch. I tends to get much more crowded on the weekends since the alcohol ban took effect. Drinks are more expensive the other surrounding Mission Beach bars, but this is to be expected since you are paying more for the location and view than anything else.

Liars Club is my favorite beer bar in San Diego... but it is either under construction or (sniff!) gone forever.

This is by far the best bar in Northpark. Awesome DJ's, quality sound, heavy-handed bartenders, and always a great vibe/crowd. There are also some pool tables if dancing isn't really your thing.

On Friday afternoons, it's all about Cabo Cantina to get an early start to a long night. They have an awesome happy hour and some pretty good mexican food to soak up the tequila. If you are a local, this is one of those bars that you can go to any time of day and run into some people you know.
